Baseball Wins Both versus Lemoyne Owen

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College Badgers baseball team began a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series with LeMoyne-Owen College on Friday at Historic Stan Galle Field, winning the first two games of the four-game set, 3-1 and 10-1.

Game 1: Spring Hill 3, LeMoyne-Owen 1

With the game tied 1-1 in the 4th inning, John Sklopan led off with a double to left field for Spring Hill.

After a single by Grayson Williams, Chet Silveri doubled down the left field line to drive in what turned out to be the game-winning run.

Taylor Gibson (3-4) was brilliant in the complete game effort. Gibson allowed just one run while striking out 13 batters.

Game 2: Spring Hill 10, LeMoyne-Owen 1

After failing to score through the first four innings, the Badgers offense exploded for five runs in each of their final two at-bats.

Williams busted up the shut out with a solo home run to left field.

Brennan Fontenot capped off the scoring in the 5th inning with a 2-run shot that scored Mason Bonnaffons.

The five spot in the home half of the 6th inning was highlighted by a RBI triple from Joseph Guidry.
