LIVINGSTON, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team took on the University of West Alabama in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, falling 6-5.

The Badgers scored all five of their runs in the 2nd inning. Back-to-back doubles from
Spencer Miller and
Grayson Williams put SHC up 3-0.Â

Joseph Guidry then hit a 2-run home run to left field to push the lead to 5-0.

It would be all Spring Hill managed in the contest as UWA answered back in the home half with three runs on four hits.Â

The hosts then put another three spot up in 5th inning, going ahead for good on a RBI single from Justin Booker.

Guidry finished 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Brennan Fontenot also went 2-for-4 for the Badgers.Â

Will Shaw (1-3) got the loss in 3.0 innings of work despite allowing no earned runs. Shaw was charged with three unearned scores.

SHC (19-14) will host a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series with LeMoyne-Owen College this weekend at Historic Stan Galle Field. Play begins with a doubleheader Friday, April 12 at 3 p.m., followed by a Saturday doubleheader at 11 a.m.
