Badgers Cruise to Victory over Tuskegee to complete series

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team concluded their Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) series with Tuskegee University on Sunday with a doubleheader at Patterson Field.

Game 1

The Badgers wasted no time in their pursuit of a series win, scoring four runs in their first at-bat on three hits including a RBI single from Neil Ring.

SHC would go on to score runs in five of the seven innings as they cruised to an 11-0 victory.

Mason Bonnaffons ended the game 3-for-4 with three runs scored and a RBI. Joseph Guidry went 2-for-3 with three RBI and a run scored.

Taylor Gibson (2-4) was brilliant in the shutout. Gibson pitched a complete game, allowing only two hits while striking out eight batters.

Game 2

Spring Hill smashed their way to a series win in the final game of the weekend, scoring 19 runs on 16 hits while the Badgers pitching staff allowed only two runs on four hits.

Brennan Fontenot had a career day, going 4-for-4 with eight RBI and scoring three runs.

Daniel Rodriguez was 3-for-4 with two RBI and two runs scored.

Michael Cabeza (2-0) pitched 6.0 innings in the win, striking out four while allowing two runs.

SHC (16-12, 10-2) will host a doubleheader with Loyola University on Tuesday, April 2nd, at Historic Stan Galle Field. First game is scheduled for a 3:00 pm start.
