Badgers Tennis Loses Trio of Road Matches

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Spring Hill College men's tennis dropped a trio of matches this weekend on a two-day road trip to Memphis and Southaven, Mississippi.

The Badgers (1-4) opened play Friday afternoon with a 6-1 loss to Southern Arkansas University and then fell to Rhodes College, 7-2, on Saturday morning. Both matches were hosted at the Rhodes College Dunavant Tennis Complex. Later on Saturday, SHC traveled to Southaven Tennis Center to battle Christian Brothers University, losing 5-2.

Ulf Grosseloh improved to 5-0 at No. 2 singles action for the season. In Memphis, he posted wins over Southern Arkansas's Natiphat Mulada, 6-2, 6-1, and Rhodes College's Phil Lauture. After losing the first set to Lauture, 6-1, Grosseloh battled back to even the match with a 6-0 win and then won the tiebreaker, 12-10. Saturday afternoon, he defeated Christian Brothers' Alonso Reid, 6-1, 6-3.

Spring Hill's other points for the weekend came from Kurt Shiell with a No. 6 singles win on a tiebreaker at Rhodes and a No. 5 singles win by Alex Demel at Christian Brothers.

SHC will host the University of Alabama in Huntsville at the Mobile Tennis Center on Friday, Feb. 15 for a 3:30 p.m. match
