SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) court volleyball team advanced to Round 3 of the 2019 Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) Championship Tournament with a 3-0 (25-17, 25-18, 25-14) sweep of the Benedict College (BC) Tigers on Tuesday morning at the Upward Star Center.
The Tigers (21-11) held a .066 (24-18-91) attack percentage versus the Badger defense that earned eight blocks with 43 digs while allowing just two services aces.
On the other side of the net, Spring Hill's offense built a .271 (48-16-118) attack percentage with 5 aces against a BC defense that recorded 3 blocks and 46 digs.

Kassandra Fairly of Ft. Walton Beach, Fla. crushed 14 kills while junior outside hitter
Allison Weimer of Covington, La. and junior middle hitter
Bentley Odom out of Murphy High School in Mobile each tallied 10 kills. All three Badgers also participated in three blocks at the net with Fairly adding three aces. Senior libero
Cassidi Sterrett from Lee's Summit, Mo. scooped in 11 digs and senior setter
Emmarose Neibert of Arnold, Mo. passed out 36 assists.
The West Division No. 1 seed Badgers (32-4) next play at 4 p.m. (eastern) today versus the East Division No. 1 seed Albany State University Golden Rams (19-12) at the Upward Star Center
