MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team endured a 4-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) loss to the Valdosta State University (VSU) Blazers on Sunday afternoon at Library Field.
The Blazers (7-6, 5-4 GSC) opened the scoring in the 6
th minute when Ashley Lewis found pay dirt off an assist from Amber Saunders. The score grew to 3-0 as Taylor Snell scored in the 10
th minute and was followed 18 minutes later by a tally from Riley Tennant. Kyleigh Reedy used an assist from Tennant to make it a 4-0 final score in the 68
th minute of play.
Freshman SHC keeper
Hannah Linss (0-8) of River Ridge, La., made 10 saves against 23 shots and seven corner kicks by VSU. Caroline Ember of the Blazers faced six shots and five corner attempts by the Badgers.
The Badgers (1-13, 0-10 GSC) will next host GSC rival the University of West Florida (UWF) Argonauts (9-4, 6-3 GSC) at Library Field on Sunday, November 3, at 1 p.m.
