Mobile, AL – The Spring Hill College (SHC) women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 Gulf South Conference (GSC) decision to Shorter University on Friday afternoon.
Shorter led 1-0 after the first half on a goal by Erin Carter in the 15
th minute of play. The Badgers found themselves trailing at the half despite out shooting the Hawks 9-3. Neither team had a try from the corners in the frame.
The second half action saw Shorter extend its lead with goals coming in the 57
th and 59
th minutes by Erica Hiller and Maddy Morlock. Shorter controlled play most of the second period and outshot the Badger 11-3. The Hawks also received 3 corner opportunities. Badger keeper
HP Fluharty went the full 90 minutes in goal for SHC and made 3 saves in the loss.
The Badgers (1-9, 1-6 GSC) will remain at home to face Lee University in a GSC match at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 7. The Badgers will also be at home the following weekend when they will host Alabama Huntsville at 3:30 PM on Friday, October 12 and West Alabama at 1:00 PM on Sunday, October 14.
