Len Smith joined the Badgers in March 2022 following two successful seasons as the men’s assistant coach at Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas.

Smith helped the Mustangs to a 23-6-2 record during his tenure at Midwestern State. Along with assisting the team to a 2020 Lone Star Conference Tournament Final, he also was instrumental in the Mustangs winning both the Lone Star Conference regular season title & conference tournament title in 2021.

Along with coaching Midwestern, Smith began his own youth competitive club in Wichita Falls where he coached multiple teams. He helped lead his club teams to the prestigious international Dallas Cup where he led his U-17 & U-18 boys to the knockout stages of the tournament. 

Prior to coaching smith was a standout forward for Midwestern State where he was a three-time, second-team All-South-Central Region selection by the United Soccer Coaches. Smith also was tabbed a first-team a first-team Daktronics All-South-Central performer as a senior after gaining second-team mention from the organization as a sophomore. After closing a three-year run with the Mustangs, Smith finished with 26 goals and 5 assists, joining the 50-point club.

Smith lives in Mobile with his wife Katelynn & his two pups Tyson and Opie.
