Ian Rogol, M.Ed., LAT, ATC is entering his second year as an Athletic Trainer at Spring Hill College.  He is responsible for injury management and rehabilitation, and ensuring acute and chronic medical evaluation and treatment for all athletes.
 
In January 2018 he was inducted in the Virginia Athletic Trainers Association (VATA) Hall of Fame.  This award recognizes VATA members for going above and beyond in his/her dedication and service to benefit the athletic training profession in the Commonwealth.
 
In June 2016 the National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA) awarded Rogol with the NATA Athletic Trainer Service Award.  This prestigious national award recognizes NATA Members for their many contributions to the athletic training profession as a volunteer at the local and state levels.  Recipients must have a minimum of 20 years of service to the NATA to be considered.
 
He was honored as the 2012 College and University Athletic Trainer of the Year across all divisions by the VATA recognizing an individual employed in the College/University setting who serves as an advocate for the profession, exhibits exemplary leadership skills, strong work ethic, and dedication to the student athlete.
 
Prior to Spring Hill College Rogol worked at Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) for one year as the Assistant Athletic Director for Health and Well-Being and prior to his one year at AUM Rogol spent nine years at the University Mary Washington as the Head Athletic Trainer.  Rogol spent his first 14 years working at the secondary school level.
 
Rogol earned a Bachelors of Science degree in 1994 from James Madison University in Kinesiology/athletic training. In 1996 he received a Master of Education in Sports Medicine at the University of Virginia.  While attending the University of Virginia he completed an internship at Fork Union Military Academy.
 
A certified member of the NATA and licensed by the Virginia Board of Medicine and the Alabama Board of Medicine.  Rogol also has membership in the Southeast Athletic Trainers’ Association (SEATA), and the ALATA (Alabama Athletic Trainers’ Association).  While in Virginia he held many positions within the VATA, most recently (2011-2016) he was treasurer for the organization.  Rogol also was the Region III representative and chair of the Constitution and By-Laws Committee. Additionally he served as a member of the Virginia High School League’s Sports Medicine Advisory Committee.  He is certified in CPR/AED and First Aid by the American Red Cross.
 
He has presented and published research on the effects of open versus closed kinetic chain exercises in improving shoulder joint reposition sense equally in healthy subjects at the NATA Annual Meeting and Symposia and Journal of Athletic Training.
