Mobile, Ala.--The Spring Hill College men's soccer team dropped its 2026 regular-season opener Wednesday evening, falling 3-0 on the road against non-conference crosstown opponent University of Mobile.

Spring Hill (0-1) struggled to generate consistent offensive momentum against an aggressive Ram team, as Mobile (3-1) held a 20-5 overall advantage in shots, including an 11-2 margin in shots on frame.

The hosting Rams took control early on, striking just 3:07 into play when Tiziano Klamler finished off a setup from Manuel Cordeviola to put Mobile ahead 1-0. The Rams doubled their margin in the 17th minute (16:10) as Klamler turned provider, feeding Mathis Devargas for Mobile's second score of the night.

The Badgers looked to chip away at the deficit late in the opening stanza. Brady Hardy sent a header high in the 36th minute, and Santiago Waites put a shot on target at the 43:41 mark that forced a stop from Ram keeper Jacopo Trolese. However, Mobile delivered a costly blow with just 11 seconds remaining before the break as Eugenio Cazares netted an unassisted goal at 44:49 to send the visitors into the locker room down 3-0.

Spring Hill adjusted coming out of halftime, settling down in the defensive third and holding Mobile scoreless across the final 45 minutes of action. Cole Osborne stood tall between the pipes throughout the rest of the night, turning away eight shots to hold off the Rams.

Offensively, Jack Rodriguez and Kullar Loveveer recorded second-half shot attempts for the purple and white, but Mobile's backline held firm to preserve the clean sheet.

A physical battle from start to finish featured 26 combined fouls (14 by Mobile, 12 by Spring Hill) and seven yellow cards issued across both squads.

Next Up: Spring Hill will look to bounce back on Friday, September 4th when it hosts Embry-Riddle Univeristy at Library Field for the home opener at 3 p.m.
