MOBILE, Ala. — Spring Hill College goalkeeper Ava Bell has been named the Gulf South Conference (GSC) Goalkeeper of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Bell helped lead the Badgers to back-to-back shutouts during the award period, recording three saves in each contest for a total of six saves.

Bell opened the week with three saves in a 2-0 victory over Tuskegee, helping Spring Hill earn its first shutout of the season. She followed that performance with another three-save effort in a 1-0 victory at Christian Brothers, earning her second consecutive clean sheet.

The two victories helped the Badgers improve to 2-2-1 overall while opening Gulf South Conference play with a 1-0 record.

The honor marks Bell's first GSC weekly award of the season.

Spring Hill returns to action at Library Field in Mobile on Wednesday, September 16 at 1:00 PM, when it plays host to Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM) for its next GSC matchup.
