Badgers End Regular Season with Series Win and Sweep

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team rallied to claim an 11-8 win over Clark Atlanta in the final regular season game of the 2026 campaign this afternoon at home. With the win, the Badgers extended their win streak to seven and swept the series. Spring Hill improved to 36-14 and 29-4 in the conference while the Panthers fell to 11-31 and 6-26 on the season.

The Badgers finish first in the SIAC standings to claim the regular season title and secured the number one seed for the 2026 SIAC Baseball Championship Tournament.

After four scoreless innings for both teams, Clark Atlanta plated five runs in the top of the fifth on six hits to go in front 5-0.

Spring Hill, in its half of the fifth, responded, and it started when Alex Roux walked. He was later out at second on a fielder's choice that allowed Weston Kirk to reach first. The Panthers then were able to get the second out of the inning, but an RBI double from John Webb cut the lead to 5-1. Webb was then lifted for pinch runner Jordan Black. Gavin Moran and Eli Benoit both walked to load the bases.  Reggie Cooper kept the inning rolling when he walked to drive in Black and make it a 5-2 game. The Badgers then took the lead off a grand slam from Dee Brandon to go in front 6-5 before the inning ended.

The Badgers in the bottom of the sixth broke the game open when they pushed five runs across on three hits and an error to take an 11-5 lead.

Clark Atlanta threatened in the late innings as it posted two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth to cut the lead to 11-8, but the Badger pitching was able to lock down the win.

Starting pitcher Alex Dicke struck out one over two innings and did not allow a base runner to reach. Reliever Donovan Monsees picked up the win to move to 4-1 on the season. He allowed five runs (two earned) on six hits in two innings of work while striking out three.

Jaylen Jones and Cooper combined to go 4-for-8 with five RBIs, three runs scored, a home run, and a double.

Kirk, Moran, Webb, and Brandon all tallied a hit, with Webb recording a double and Dee registering a home run.

Spring Hill will head to the SIAC Baseball Championship this week, which starts on April 30.
