COLUMBIA, S.C. – The Spring Hill track and field teams impressed on Wednesday, putting the second day of the SIAC Championships in the rearview mirror. The Badger women sit in fifth place with 28 points, while the men are in 11th place with 12 points.

Claudia Billedeaux opened Day Two with a 12th-place finish in the women's shot put, coming away with a toss of 10.66m (34' 11 ¾") on her second attempt of the day.

Spring Hill dominated in the women's pole vault, taking four of the top five individual spots and earning 32 points toward the team total. Freshman Lorilai Hymel set a new program record with a clearance of 3.05m (10') to win the event, while
Leia Mayeux (2.85m/9' 4 ¼") and
Ariana Sprinkle (2.60m/8' 6 ¼") picked up second and third respectively.

Mayeux is now third all-time on the Spring Hill record books, Sprinkle is now tied for fourth, and Allison Mangan matched her career-best of 2.45m (8' ½") to place fifth individually at the conference meet on Wednesday. On the men's side, freshman
Nolan Akers matched his season-best with a mark of 3.05m (10') to place 6th as the lone Badger in the field, earning All-Conference honors along the way.Â

Kobe King followed with a program record of his own in the men's triple jump, as his final attempt of the day landed at 14.19m (46' 6 ¾"). King surpasses a record previously set in 2019 by David Daniels, who turned in a career-best of 13.59m (45' 9").

The lone finals on the track on Wednesday were the men's and women's steeplechase, and freshman
Kerrigan Klevanosky finished in 11th place in the women's race with a time of 15:15.19.
Zachary Thomas followed with a third-place time of 10:13.15 in the men's steeple, adding six more points to SHC's total.

Theo Hubbard finished in 21st in the men's 110m hurdles, doing so with a time of 17.21. Evelyn Herrera (5:10.14) followed with a third-place finish in the women's 1500 prelims to qualify for Thursday's finals, setting a new PR and sliding into fifth on the program record books along the way.

Lydia Hamilton (1:01.50) placed 16th in the women's 400, and freshman
Lilly Legnon (13.88) finished the women's 100 less than one-tenth of a second away from a new personal best.
Grant Nastasi qualified for the men's 100 finals with a first-place time of 10.45 in the prelims, while
Devon Nash (11.22) and Cavan Alston (11.64) both moved into the program top ten.

The Spring Hill women's 4x400 relay team of
Mariam Cosky,
Cecilia Light,
Lydia Hamilton and
JaTerralyn Hamilton qualified for the finals with a seventh-place time of 4:08.82. In the final event of the day, King,
Erik Lindmark, Ben Harris and Akers (3:26.84) combined to finish in ninth place despite turning in the Badgers' best mark of the season in the event.
