GULF SHORES, Ala. - Spring Hill College's beach volleyball team finished play at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships, at the Gulf Shores Public Beaches, Sunday, losing to Palm Beach Atlantic and Carson-Newman by identical 3-0 scores to give the Sandy Badgers a fourth-place finish in the Silver Bracket.

In the first match of the day, fourth-seeded Palm Beach Atlantic (21-15) - which now leads the all-time series with Spring Hill, 4-2 - took all three matches in straight sets. Maddie Kremer and Katelyn Nadeau beat the Sandy Badgers' No. 2 team of Claire Hayes and Alessandra Lane, 21-15, 21-10, Sydney Corbett and Cameron Ring got past Lillie Casey and Ashlyn Whiteside, 21-18, 21-13 in the No. 3 match, and PBA's No. 5 pair of Grace Reynolds and Savanna Rogers knocked off Monica Vargo and Mia Johnson, 21-19, 21-13.

Spring Hill (12-16) didn't win a match against Carson-Newman (33-4), but the Sandy Badgers battled hard, as one completed match went three sets, another required extra points to decide a set, and a third saw the Spring Hill pair score at least 18 points in both sets of the match. Lane and Hayes lost 23-21, 21-13 to Emerson Ahsmuhs and Ava Potts in the No. 2 match, Spring Hill's No. 3 pair of Casey and Whiteside fell 21-19, 21-18 Camryn Ehlers and Addie Smith, and Vargo and Johnson fought hard before losing 21-16, 19-21, 15-11 to the Eagles' No. 5 team of Kelcey Peterson and Madison Trondle.

The Sandy Badgers conclude the year having won at least 12 matches for the sixth straight season and for the ninth time in the last 10 years. Spring Hill - which played half of its schedule (14 matches) against Division I opposition this season - finished the 2026 campaign with a 10-4 record against non-Division I opponents, with three of those losses coming at the AVCA Small College Beach Championships.
