PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Spring Hill College baseball team suffered an 11-1 run-rule loss on the road to the University of West Florida tonight. The Badgers fall to 29-14, while the Argonauts improve to 31-11.

West Florida took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first and added another three runs in the bottom of the second to go up 6-0.

The Argonauts tacked on a run in the bottom of the third with an RBI single to go up 7-0.

Spring Hill in the top of the fifth, got on the board, and it started when Andrew Juez walked on five pitches. West Florida was able to get two fast back-to-back outs following the walk. Juez then moved himself into scoring position after stealing second base. He was able to come around to score off Jatnier Torres' RBI single to center to cut the lead to 7-1 before the inning ended.

West Florida went on to add a run in the fifth, another in the sixth, and a pair in the seventh to go on to win 11-1.

Starting pitcher Dylan Peck took the loss (0-1) for Spring Hill. He allowed three runs on two hits and a walk in two-thirds of an inning, while fanning one.

Torres led Spring Hill at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI and a double. Teammates Jaylen Jones, John Webb, and Gavin Moran each tallied a hit. Webb also tallied a walk.
