MOBILE, Ala. - Spring Hill College's beach volleyball team got back in the win column Tuesday afternoon, sweeping the University of Mobile, 5-0, in a match at the University of Mobile Beach Volleyball Courts.

The Sandy Badgers' sweep of Mobile (13-7) was the second time in the past three weeks that Spring Hill had posted a 5-0 win over the Rams, having already defeated Mobile at the Jim and Betty Walsh Beach Volleyball Facility on March 10. Spring Hill now leads the all-time series against Mobile, 13-0, and the Sandy Badgers (8-10) stopped the Rams' run of six wins in its past seven matches with the shutout.

Though the match ended with a 5-0 scoreline, the victory didn't come easy for the Sandy Badgers, as three of the five matches went to a third set to decide a winner, and Spring Hill dropped the first set in two of those three matches. Picking up straight-set wins for Spring Hill were the No. 1 team of Jaylyne Bell and Marissa Peck (21-12, 21-15) and the Sandy Badgers' No.4 pairing of Lillie Casey and Reagan Huff (21-15, 21-17).

Spring Hill - which is now 7-0 versus non-Division I opponents this season - got three-set victories from the No. 2 team of Alessandra Lane and Claire Hayes (21-15, 18-21, 15-10), Ashlyn Whiteside and Landry Tea in the No. 3 match (19-21, 21-3, 15-8), and the team of Mia Johnson and Monica Vargo (12-21, 21-17, 15-10) at No. 5.

In the extra match, Spring Hill's team of Felicity Evans and Megan Pulizzano fought hard before dropping a 21-14, 21-17 decision.

The Sandy Badgers are back in action on April 10, when Spring Hill travels to the Battle on the Bayou, hosted by LSU at the LSU Beach Volleyball Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. The Sandy Badgers will play twice that day, taking on Texas A&M-Kingsville at 9:15 a.m. CT and Division I member Central Arkansas at 3:30 p.m. CT.
