Spring Hill T&F squads compete in Georgia

ATLANTA – The Spring Hill track and field teams took part in the Emory Spring Break Classic over the weekend, marking the third straight weekend the Badgers have been in action. In total, Spring Hill landed on the podium five times over the two-day event.
 
JaTerrlyn Hamilton (25.20) picked up ninth place in the women's 200, followed by teammates Lydia Hamilton (27.12) and Lilly Legnon (29.86). Lydia Hamilton went on to represent the Badgers in the women's 400, as well, turning in a time of 1:01.41.
 
Cecilia Light (2:20.34) just missed the podium in the women's 800, finishing in ninth place individually, with Evelyn Herrera (2:32.40) taking 35th place. Freshman Kerrigan Klevanovsky was the lone Badger to compete in the distance events, producing a time of 6:30.09 in the women's 1500.
 
Miram Consky (1:08.80) was the top Spring Hill finisher in the 400 hurdles, with Ferrin Westry (1:17.06) rounding out the pack. The 4x100 relay team of Allison Mangan, Cosky, Lydia Hamilton and JeTarrlyn Hamilton closed out the women's events for SHC with a time of 50.00, earning 11th place along the way.
 
In the field events, Kobe King stayed busy, picking up 14th (6.77m/22' 2 ½") in the long jump before adding a 10th-place (13.89m/45' 7") finish in the triple jump later in the weekend. In total, King competed in five events for the Badgers, the most of any athlete on the men's roster.
 
Senior Grant Nastasi took home a sixth-place finish in the men's 100 finals, turning in a time of 10.71. Freshmen Devon Nash (11.05) and Cavan Alston (11.79) also represented the Badgers in the same event, turning in 23rd and 74th place respectively.
 
Nastasi later led the way for the Spring Hill men in the 200, as well, doing so with a mark of 22.46. Theo Hubbard (22.92) and Alston (24.37) rounded out the event for Spring Hill, while Hubbard went on to add a sixth-place finish in the 110 hurdles behind a finals time of 15:03, and Ben Harris produced a time of 57.41 in the 400 hurdles, good enough for 19th place individually.
 
Harris (51.24) took 36th in the men's 400, while King (51.51) followed in 45th. Erik Lindmark (2:01.43) paced the Badgers in the men's 800, followed by Zachary Thomas (2:11.45) and Nolan Akers (2:19.85).
 
Thomas was the lone Spring Hill competitor in the men's 1500, turning in a time of 4:20.28, while teammate Luke Burlison wrapped up the 3K in 10:28.14. Thomas shined in the steeplechase, giving the Badgers a seventh-place finish at 10:17.36, with Akers (11:49.89). following in 12th place.
 
In the men's 4x100 relay, Hubbard, King, Nash and Nastasi teamed up to produce a sixth-place time of 42.69. The 4x400 relay team of Akers, King, Lindmark and Harris combined for a time of 3:27.40, landing them in seventh place to close out the weekend.
 
The Badgers are back in action on April 3, when they open the Southern Miss Invitational in Hattiesburg.
