MOBILE, Ala. - Spring Hill College's beach volleyball team celebrated Senior Night Tuesday afternoon by picking up its fifth straight win, sweeping the University of Mobile, 5-0, at the Jim and Betty Walsh Beach Volleyball Facility.

Along with five straight wins, Tuesday's victory was the Sandy Badgers' fourth consecutive 5-0 sweep and gives Spring Hill a 12-0 record against Mobile all-time.

Spring Hill (6-2) won all five matches in straight sets, allowing Mobile (5-4) to score more than 17 points in only four of the 10 sets. Leading the way for the Sandy Badgers was the No. 1 pair of Jaylyne Bell and Ashlyn Whiteside, who beat Emma Hampton and Gabby Sheffield, 21-17, 21-13 at No. 1. Claire Hayes and Marissa Peck won 21-15, 21-15 at No. 2 against Rachel Bumaway and Jaci Drinnon, and Spring Hill's No. 3 pair of Landry Tea and Alessandra Lane rolled to a 21-13, 21-4 win over Reyton Frazer and Kaylin Johnson.

At No. 4, Airyonna Weaver and Reagan Huff knocked off Rylee Warren and Emma McPherson, 21-18, 21-16, and Spring Hill's No. 5 pair of Lillie Casey and Megan Pulizzano got past Bella DiDonna and Sophie Dorris, 21-18, 22-20.

The Sandy Badgers' extra pair of Felicity Evans and Monica Vargo also were victorious, battling back from a set down to win 20-22, 21-18, 15-10 against Mobile's Caroline Bailey and Georgia Simmons.

Spring Hill now hits the road for its next match, traveling to Hammond, La., to take on Division I member Southeastern Louisiana (2-7) on March 17. First serve at the Southeastern Beach Volleyball Complex is scheduled for 1 p.m.
