Adjesson just misses double-double in loss to EWU

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Spring Hill women's basketball team was tripped up on Thursday evening, falling 66-32 to Edward Waters. Jenice Adjesson highlighted the effort for the Badgers, tallying 16 points and nine rebounds to lead the team in both categories.
 
The loss drops the Badgers to 6-15 on the season, including a 4-14 mark in SIAC action. The Tigers have now won nine straight and stand and stand at 18-4 for the year.

The two teams went back and forth in the early going, but once a free throw broke an 8-8 tie the Tigers never looked back. The second quarter proved to be an offensive struggle, with the two teams combining for eight turnovers and just 11 points, allowing Edward Waters to carry a six-point lead into the locker room at the break.
 
EWU hit a rhythm to start the second half, knocking down 62.5% of their attempts from the floor while holding Spring Hill without a field goal. The final quarter saw five different Tiger players find the bottom of the twine, and the Tigers were hit with their seventh straight loss.
 
Notes and Numbers:
  • The Badgers outrebounded their hosts 41-35, but the Tigers won the turnover battle by a margin of 24-9.
  • Imani Harris led the scoring for Edward Waters with 15 points, while Zahra Daniel followed with 10.
  • Shcira Fowles collected a game-high 11 rebounds for EWU, giving her nearly a third of the team's boards.
