MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team fell short against the Clark Atlanta University Panthers Saturday afternoon in Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. The Badgers dropped the contest 82-71 in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
SHC fell to 6-14 overall and 4-13 in the SIAC, while Clark Atlanta improved to 13-9 overall and 13-4 in conference play.

Both teams battled to an 8-8 tie by the 6:07 mark in the opening quarter, after free throws from Irby Allison. Spring Hill went up by three, 13-10, with 2:56 on the clock following free throws from
Jenice Adjessom. However, the Panthers battled back to take an 18-15 advantage to the second quarter.
In the second, CAU steadily built to an 18-point advantage following a free throw from Atreonia Garner to move the score to 39-21 with 3:38 until the half. The Badgers worked the cut into the deficit and only trailed 43-32 at the half after a three from
Libby Geisler with 42 seconds on the clock.
The lead was whittled down to eight points in the third following a layup by
Allison Irby to move the score to 54-46 with 4:21 to go in the period. Unfortunately, Clark Atlanta found a way to push the lead back to double digits as the Panthers led 63-51 heading to the fourth.
Spring Hill outscored CAU 20-19 during the fourth. This allowed the Badgers to cut the advantage down to 74-68 when
Madison Dowling notched two of her 22 points with a layup with 1:38 to go. However, SHC ran out of time as Clark Atlanta used free throws down the stretch to secure an 82-71 road win.
Notes and Numbers:
- Madison Dowling led all scorers with 22 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the floor. She added eight rebounds, three assists, and a block.
- Jenice Adjessom posted a double-double, going for 17 points and 10 rebounds, while also adding five assists and two steals.
- Spring Hill shot 32.9 percent (24-of-73) from the floor, 20.5 percent (8-of-39) from three, and 78.9 percent (15-of-19) at the free throw line.
