FORT VALLEY, Ga. – The Spring Hill men's basketball team was tripped up on Thursday evening, falling 101-61 to Fort Valley State. Three Badgers scored in double-figures, while forward Anthony Cole narrowly missed his first double-double of the season.

The loss drops the Badgers to 2-17 on the season, including a 2-13 mark in SIAC action. The Wildcats improve to 10-8 for the year and 8-2 on their home court.

The two teams went back and forth in the early going, but Fort Valley State began to pull away at the 12-minute media timeout. A dozen first-half turnovers and ten FVSU three-pointers haunted the Badgers, as the Wildcats went to the locker room with a 49-30 lead at the break.

Spring Hill never got in a rhythm in the second half, shooting just 8-for-26 over the game's final 20 minutes. The Wildcats shot better than 50% from the floor during that stretch, outscoring their guests 52-31. Â

Notes and Numbers:
- Rocco Lamuno and Collin Coates tied one another for the team lead with 14 points, while Brian Harris followed with 11.
- Lamuno has scored in double-figures in all but one game this season.
- Cole hauled in a game-high 11 rebounds, finishing his night one point shy of a double-double.
- Spring Hill outrebounded FVSU 40-39 for the night, but the Wildcats won the turnover battle by a margin of 18-6.
- Thursday marked the fifth time this season that the Badgers have collected 40 rebounds as a team.
