Quotable – Head Coach Walker Bullington
On the return of assistant coach Fernando Gonzalez
"I couldn't be more excited to bring in our new coaches this year to round out our staff.
Fernando Gonzalez returns as our pitching coach and did a tremendous job with that group last year. I'm looking forward to him getting to work with our incoming guys and continue to develop our returners. He's been awesome on and off the field and has a hand in every facet of our program."
Â
On Wilson
"
Jeffrey Wilson is coming down to Mobile from Detroit. He is ex-military, has several years of coaching and recruiting experience, and is a great communicator and teacher of the game. He is a disciplined worker who is going to help with all facets of our program. He has been successful at every stop in his career on the diamond and off. His work ethic, organization and love for the game are really going to add value to our program and the development of our players. I'm looking forward to working with him throughout this season and beyond."
Â
On Hunter and Serio
"
Nick Hunter and
Parker Serio are two players who everyone will be very familiar with. I hate pairing them, but that's how it's been since they have been here. These guys were team captains immediately and consummate leaders. Both of them are here for a reason. They love Spring Hill, they're great people and workers, and coaching is just in them. Their roles really won't change apart from instead of playing, they will just be leading. Both guys ran drills, practices, did field work and more every day as players. I'm excited to watch them now go to the other end of the dugout working with our guys.
Â
On Taylor
"
Jack Taylor will also be with us this fall as he graduates from SHC in a student assistant role helping in any way he can. Jack is one of those guys that brings instant energy every day. Constantly smiling, plays hard, works hard and loves the game. I know he's excited to help out our younger kids with what it takes to be successful here. After his playing days this spring, I'm hoping he comes back to help us in a permanent role."
Â
"Overall, I'm just excited to get this group together and go out and coach and develop our players every single day," Bullington said. "Really happy to be able to bring these guys in and our players and program will be infinitely better for it!"
