MACON, Ga. – The Spring Hill College baseball team fell to No. 4-seeded Albany State, 8-5 on the second day of the Cricket SIAC Baseball Championship tournament at Luther Williams Field.

Bryce Anderson led the Badgers (37-13) at the plate with two hits apiece. Anderson also tallied a pair of RBIs in his four at-bats.
The Golden Rams (28-20) jumped ahead to an early 6-0 lead in the opening frame. Spring Hill began to chip away at the deficit with a home run from
Jackson Bell in the third.
Parker Serio kept the scoring run going in the fourth with an RBI single, followed by
Seth Williams crossing the plate on a fielder's choice.
Albany State extended its lead with a pair of runs in the fifth. SHC responded again after Anderson drove in two runs on a double in the fifth.
It was not enough for Spring Hill to overcome the 8-5 lead by Albany State. The Badgers dropped their first game of the tournament, falling into the losers' bracket.
Korey Bunselmeyer suffered the loss on the mound for SHC.
Arlon Butts came in relief, sitting down seven batters, walking three and yielding just two hits on five runs in 6.1 innings.
Landen Harris closed out the game with 2.1 scoreless innings of work.
Spring Hill will play No. 6 Benedict at 8 a.m. (ET) on Saturday.
