MOBILE, Ala. – AJ Swader and
Korey Bunselmeyer both earned National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association All-South Region honors Friday. Swader was named to the first team while Bunselmeyer landed on the second team.

Swader made noise in his SIAC debut this season, earning back-to-back SIAC Player of the Week awards, first team all-conference honors and an all-tournament nod. Offensively, he hit a remarkable .407 with a 1.219 OPS, collecting 68 hits, 12 doubles, two triples and 12 home runs.

The redshirt junior also tallied 56 RBIs and an .719 slugging percentage. Defensively, Swader posted a near-perfect .989 fielding percentage with 326 putouts and 18 assists, while contributing to 31 double plays.

Bunselmeyer, the four-time SIAC Pitcher of the Week and first team all-conference honoree, was a dominant force on the mound, finishing with a 9-4 record, a 4.24 ERA and 1.39 WHIP over 76.1 innings of work.

In 15 starts, he struck out 72 batters while holding opponents to a .262 average, tossing three complete games and one shutout.
