SHC Sweeps LeMoyne-Owen

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team swept the SIAC series against LeMoyne-Owen after defeating the Magicians 15-2 in seven innings at Sims-Galle Field on Saturday.

Miles Justin (W: 3-2); Jayden Smith (L: 1-3)
 
Seth Williams led at the plate with two hits, two runs and four RBIs in three at-bats. He gave the Badgers (28-9, 21-2 SIAC) the go-ahead run with a base-clearing double in the fourth.
 
The Magicians (13-18, 6-17 SIAC) put two runs on the board in the third to open scoring. Spring Hill responded with 15-straight unanswered runs through the end of the game.
 
Nick Hunter kicked off the scoring run with an RBI single in the fourth, followed by Williams' three-RBI double and him scoring on an error by the catcher.
 
After AJ Swader scored to start the fifth, Enrique Baraza hit his second career home run, a two-run bomb over the right field wall. SHC stacked three more runs on in the sixth.
 
Four more insurance runs gave the Badgers a 15-2 lead, forcing a run rule at the end of the seventh.
 
Miles Justin (3-2) picked up the win in his fourth start of the season. He gave up just two runs and sat down six while not issuing any free passes across 5.0 innings. Jack Lahr came in relief and tossed 2.0 scoreless innings to close out the game.
