MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team fell 8-4 to Albany State in Thursday's SIAC series opener at Sims-Galle Field.

AJ Swader had a perfect 2-for-2 outing and scored one run.
Bryce Anderson led with two RBIs on two hits in five at-bats.

Jack Taylor opened scoring in the opening frame with an RBI.
Bryce Anderson brought home two more runs with a double, giving the Badgers (34-12, 27-3 SIAC) an early 3-0 lead.

The Golden Rams (26-18, 21-10 SIAC) evened the score in the top of the second. ASU stacked five more runs on through the top of the sixth and took an 8-3 lead.

A bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the sixth broke up the Albany State scoring run and made it an 8-4 game. The Badgers were unable to put together enough of a rally to overcome the Golden Rams' lead.

Korey Bunselmeyer (9-2) tossed 5.0 innings and recorded a pair of strikeouts with five earned runs and three walks.
Garrett Lott pitched the final 2.0 innings for the Badgers and did not allow a single hit while sitting down five batters.
