Spring Hill Defeats West Florida in Midweek Contest

MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team opened April with a 7-3 midweek win over West Florida at Sims-Galle Field on Tuesday.

Arlon Butts (W: 1-2); Grant Adams (L: 5-3)
 
Jackson Bell led at the plate with a triple and an RBI on two hits in three at-bats. Seth Williams and Jack Taylor contributed two RBIs apiece in the rivalry victory.
 
The Badgers (25-9, 18-2 SIAC) trailed after the Argonauts (20-13, 14-7 GSC) scored a pair of runs in the third inning.
 
Williams tied the game at 2-2 with a two-run homer in the fourth. Bryce Anderson sacrificed to right to score another run, followed by AJ Swader scoring on a wild pitch.
 
Spring Hill extended its lead with a run in the fifth and sixth. Taylor hit an RBI single in the fifth before taking a bases-loaded walk in the sixth.
 
West Florida got a run back in the top of the eighth to cut the Badgers' lead to three.
 
Bell sacrificed to center field in the bottom of the eighth to seal the 7-3 win for SHC.
 
Kai St. Germaine closed the game with a scoreless 1.1 inning outing.
