CLEVELAND, Miss. – The Spring Hill College baseball team fell 11-3 in its first road contest of the year against Delta State at Ferriss Field on Friday.

Reggie Cooper got things started for the Badgers (1-4, 0-0 SIAC) with a home run to left field in the third inning.
AJ Swader kept the momentum going by grounding out to second base and bringing
Nick Hunter across the plate.
Jackson Bell reached home on a ground out from
Gavin Moran to close out the scoring run.

The Statesmen (2-3, 0-0 GSC) responded with 11 unanswered runs through the end of the game.

Bell led SHC at the plate with four hits, including a double and a run in five at bats. Swader, Moran and Cooper each tallied an RBI.

Arlon Butts (0-1) suffered the loss on the mound in his second start of the year.
Jonah Cook struck out a pair of batters in 2.1 innings.
