PEACHTREE CITY, Ga. – The Spring Hill College baseball team opened Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play with a pair of wins against Clark Atlanta during Friday's doubleheader at Home Plate Field.

The Badgers (3-6, 2-0 SIAC) started off strong with a 15-5 run-rule victory in eight innings against the Panthers (4-4, 0-2 SIAC).

SHC put on five runs on four hits in the opening frame before adding another two in the fourth. CAU answered with a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth.

The sixth was all Spring Hill as the Badgers boosted their lead to 11-2. Clark Atlanta tried gaining momentum with three runs of its own in the bottom of the sixth. SHC completed the run-rule victory with four more runs through the eighth.

Seth Williams led in the opening game of the series with a perfect day, going 5-for-5 at the plate with four runs, three doubles and three RBIs.
Bryce Anderson also contributed three RBIs of his own on two hits, one of which was a triple.

In total, the Badgers stole 10 bases, four of which were taken by
Reggie Cooper.

Arlon Butts moved to 1-1 on the bump in his second start of the season. He struck out five batters and only walked three while facing 26.

Game two was much of the same for Spring Hill, scoring eight unanswered runs after Clark Atlanta opened scoring with a single run in the third.
Jackson Bell,
John Webb and Anderson each tallied two RBIs a piece. Williams, Webb and Anderson each cranked a home run out in the sweeping victory.

Michael Racobaldo (1-1) earned the win with six strikeouts and only a single earned run in 6.0 innings of work.
