MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team's fourth-quarter comeback on Monday was not enough to overcome Miles. The Badgers narrowly fell 49-46 at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center.
Â
Spring Hill (6-16, 5-10 SIAC) led the SIAC west division leader Golden Bears (14-6, 12-4 SIAC) 14-11 after the first quarter. A scoring drought in the second quarter, however, would give Miles a 24-19 lead going into halftime.
Â
The Badgers kept things close, trailing by three through the third quarter, 36-33. Despite a valiant effort and winning the battle in fast breaks, SHC fell 49-46 in its final home game of the regular season.
Â
Kellyn Hunter led the game with 19 points, highlighted by three 3-pointers and 8-10 shooting at the free throw line.
Marta Duda and
Ariel Thompson followed close behind with six points and six rebounds apiece.
