They Said It – Head Coach Craig McVey
On the meet
"We finally got a break from the heat, for our women's race at 68 degrees was great. Everyone raced better with another week of practice behind them, and the weather helped a lot. We're doing the things we needed to do to put together a more complete race. Our women were seventh of eight scoring teams. Our men did not score due to illness and injury."

On the women's race
"CeCe [Cecilia] Light finished as our number one runner Saturday in 11th place with a time of 20:18.7, which was a nice time given the soft footing from multiple days of rain before race time. Evelyn Hererra raced faster than a year ago, which was also good considering the footing and occasional mud. CeCe and Evelyn's finishes were both good considering the number of NCAA Division I programs in the field. Kerrigan continued to make progress and put together a more complete race. Alli [Allison] raced well especially since she had been under the weather health-wise."

On the men's race
"The men raced under distance at four miles, which is a break from the usual 8K distance. Zach [Zachary] Thomas finished as our number one runner again. His 31st place finish was solid in the field especially given the number of Division I programs competing. Luke Burlison and Talan [Erik] Lindmark continued to put together more complete races and made progress."
