MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College women's basketball team snapped a five-game losing streak with a 54-50 win against Central State in the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Monday.

In a close contest that was never separated by more than 10 points, the Badgers (6-11, 5-5 SIAC) wore down the Marauders (7-9, 6-5 SIAC) by the end. Spring Hill's first lead came with just over four minutes to go in the game.

SHC capitalized on the late momentum with a 16-11 run that sealed the victory. The Badgers shot 34 percent from the floor and 36 percent from distance. Central State was held to 27 percent shooting overall and 19 percent shooting from 3-point range.

Laurie Severe had a season-high night featuring a game-leading 15 points, five rebounds and a pair of assists.
Tiana Smith (14) and
Nicole Blanch (11) also scored in double figures.
Marta Duda led the Badgers with 10 rebounds off the glass.
