GAUTIER, Miss. – Grace Denegri and Michelle Lorio led the Spring Hill College women's golf team in its season opener against Loyola (La.) at Shell Landing Golf Club on Tuesday.
 
Denegri opened her collegiate career leading the Badgers with a 6-over-par 78 that tied Lorio and two other Wolf Pack golfers. Evie Graves and Molly Kirkman tied for seventh with an 82. Ella Katherine Parker (83) placed ninth, while Kitrie Noe' (84) tied for 10^th.

"Playing against the No. 16 ranked team in NAIA ,the Loyola Wolfpack, the Badgers had a strong showing to start the year. Paced by fifth-year senior Michelle Lorio who shot her career-best 78 to tie for second place alongside teammate, freshman newcomer Grace Denegri who also shot 78 in her first collegiate event of her career. This was a very competitive match against a nationally ranked opponent on a tough golf course and for the Badgers to have two players three shots back of the lead is an impressive way to start the 24-25 season."
