COLUMBUS, Ga. – The Spring Hill College softball team opened its postseason with a 5-0 shutout victory over Savannah State before falling 4-2 to Lane in the 2024 Cricket SIAC Softball Championship at the South Commons Softball Complex on Monday.

Oscha Carter led the Badgers (24-18) with a perfect day (4-4) at the plate, an RBI and a run scored in the opening round game against #4 (East) Savannah State (14-28).
Amanda Glowacki also contributed an RBI on one hit in three at-bats in the shutout victory against the Tigers.

Carter kept her momentum going into the second game with another RBI in her 2-for-3 performance at the plate against #3 (West)Â Lane (31-13).
Bailey Cox also recorded an RBI while batting a perfect 2-for-2 at the plate in the afternoon game.

Emma Curry (9-5) pitched back-to-back complete games in the first day of the tournament. She scattered seven strikeouts, three hits and a pair of walks across 7.0 innings against SSU. The Dragons were able to record four runs on six hits in 6.0 innings, but struck out six times against Curry.
