TAVARES, Fla. – The Spring Hill College beach volleyball team defeated both Wayne State, 3-2, and Florida Southern, 3-1, to capture the 2024 AVCA Small College Beach Championships Bronze Bracket Championship at Hickory Point Beach on Sunday.
 
The Sandy Badgers (18-16) downed Wayne State (10-6), 3-2, in their first bronze bracket match of the day. Lily Mascari and Mia Saavedra (21-14, 21-16) captured their first doubles win together on the No. 1 court. Jaylyne Bell and Ashlyn Whiteside (21-15, 21-12) notched their 15^th duos win on the season, the third-most on the team. Elizabeth Hardouin and Emily Weinzapfel (21-17, 21-12) took their third-straight win in the No. 4 flight.
 
SHC moved on to the bronze bracket championship match, where it took down Florida Southern (23-11), 3-1. Airyonna Weaver finished up her debut day in the sand with a 12-21, 21-17, 17-15 win alongside duo partner Emma Grace Payne on court No. 5. Linnea Beger and Ally Lane (19-21, 21-16, 15-7) moved to 18 wins, the most on the squad, with their victory in the No. 2 spot.
