MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team fell in the final game of the series to Delta State 19-2 at Historic Sims-Galle Field on Saturday.

Toran Smith went 2-for-3 and
Luke Sweeney went 1-for-2 while crossing home plate once.
Nick Hunter extended his reached base streak to seven games.

Delta State took an early 7-0 lead through the first two innings of play to start the rubber match. Spring Hill showed life when
Seth Williams stole third and scored on an failed pickoff error by the pitcher. Then, Sweeney scored on a throwing error by the third baseman that also allowed
Eli Benoit to reach first.

The Statesmen then proceeded to go on a 12-0 run through the sixth inning. The Badgers ultimately suffered the 19-2 run rule loss and dropped the series.
