They Said It
Head Coach Craig Kennedy
On the game
"It was a good rebound for us, coming back off of our losses in South Carolina. I was really proud of the guys, how we played that first half, particularly
Bo Barber. He really stepped up. I think that may be the best I've seen him play since he's been here. 11 assists, which I believe is the record in the [team's] NCAA era, that was huge. Their press affected us and Coach Broadnax, first off, he was a tremendous player and he's such a good coach and we've got to learn to handle that. Obviously, when Bo went out with four fouls, it created kind of a dicey situation. You put
Jordan Franklin in as a freshman, but that's going to make him better. I think we were able to hold our lead pretty solidly there. We didn't grow it as much as we needed to, but we were outstanding from the three. Walter [Peggs Jr.] hit some shots, which helps Bo's assists. So overall, I was happy with the effort from the guys. We have to do this dance one more time with Edward Waters coming in here."
Â
On finishing the calendar year
"It's so important, winning at home, and getting on a win streak. We own this gym and we're going to win here in this gym and finish this out head into the Christmas break. Then, we go on the road for two really tough games at Clark Atlanta and Morehouse. Listen, there's no easy games in this conference. There's no easy games and we're back to being the hunter now."
