Badgers Fall In Season Opener Against Tars

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Steven Lyles, Walter Peggs Jr. and freshman Rocco Lamuno recorded 20-plus points apiece but it was not enough as the Spring Hill College men's basketball team fell 107-98 in its season opener against Rollins at the Alfond Sports Center on Friday.
 
Lyles went for 27 points with eight rebounds, four assists and a steal. Peggs Jr. recorded 25 points and led the team with five made 3-pointers alongside Lamuno, who totaled 23 points in his collegiate debut. Lamuno added on four steals, two rebounds and a block to his first career game.
 
The Badgers shot 47 percent from the floor and 41 percent from beyond the arc. Spring Hill's bench generated 30 points.

"Coming out for our first game we shook off the nerves and got some good inside out play, but when Rollins went to a small lineup we were not able to defend with our bigs like we needed to do. Rollins doubled us from the free throw line and it was a credit to their shooting fundamentals. That made a big difference in the game. Freshman Rocco Lamuno had a good game along with Steven Lyles and Walter Peggs. This was the second day in a long time to have everyone back so it will be good to get our group back in sync again."
