JACKSON, Tenn. – Alessandro Abate led the Spring Hill College men's soccer team (5-5-1, 5-2-1 GSC) to a 3-1 win against Union (6-4-1, 1-3-1 GSC) at the Smith Memorial Soccer Complex on Friday.

Abate struck first for the Badgers while being assisted by
Izan Quesada Leal in the fifth minute.
Brett Stow tacked on another goal that was assisted by Abate in the 20
th minute.

Adrian Rodriguez's penalty kick goal in the 25
th minute insured the Badger lead. Union showed life in the second half with a goal in the 56
th minute, but SHC held on and won 3-1.

The Badgers rattled off 14 shots, four of which were on target.
Martin Gomez made three saves while facing 12 shots and playing all 90 minutes in goal.

SHC improved to 5-5-1 overall and took the lead in the Gulf South Conference with a 5-2-1 record. The Bulldogs fell to 6-4-1 overall and 1-3-1 in GSC play.
