Badgers Open SIAC Crossover II With Pair of Sweeps

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Spring Hill College Volleyball team (11-7, 10-0 SIAC) opened its weekend at the SIAC Crossover II with a pair of 3-0 wins against Savannah State (4-4, 3-2 SIAC) and Allen (4-9, 3-6 SIAC) at the Bruce Hall/Johnson Gymnasium on Friday.
 
The Badgers started the weekend with a 3-0 (25-13, 25-20, 25-16) win over Savannah State. Camille McDermott led the match with a season-high three aces and 23 digs while Brooke Borgmeyer led the team with nine kills. Airyonna Weaver and Jaylyne Bell led the match with four total blocks apiece and Ashlyn Whiteside led with a season-high 23 digs.
 
Spring Hill continued its momentum into the second match of the day against Allen. SHC swept the Yellowjackets, 3-0 (25-7, 25-12, 25-21). The Badgers dominated every major statistical category, including aces (10-1). Brooklyn Hall led the contest with 14 kills, Ella Faliveno led with a season-high five aces and McDermott led again, this time with 38 assists. Hayley Hillman led seven total blocks, which marked a season-high for her, while Whiteside led with 15 digs.
 
SHC extended its win streak to 10 matches this season and its conference win streak to 143 matches, dating back to 2016.
