MOBILE, Ala. – Poppy Binding's first brace of the season led the Spring Hill College women's soccer team (5-4-2, 2-2-2 GSC) to a 2-1 win against Auburn Montgomery (2-6-2, 0-5-1) at Library Field on Friday.
Binding opened scoring while being assisted by
Marta Mayoral Montero in the 25
th minute. AUM's Michaelyn Manning evened things at 1-1 late in the match at the 83:46 mark. Less than a minute later, Binding would find the back of the net again to give the Badgers a 2-1 edge. The game-winning goal from Binding marked her second of the season.
Spring Hill lit up the Warhawk goal with 18 shots, nine of which were on target.
Carlotta Stark made two saves while the SHC defense held AUM to just five shots. The Badgers improved to 2-2-2 in GSC play and the Warhawks fell to 0-5-1 in conference.
