LAKELAND, Fla. – The Spring Hill College women's soccer team fell in its season opener on the road, 2-0, to Florida Southern at Berend Field on Friday night.
Spring Hill managed to keep the match scoreless through halftime despite eight shots coming from Florida Southern. The Mocs finally broke through in the second half with a goal in the 55
th minute, followed by another in the 88
th minute.
Marta Mayoral Montero and
Poppy Binding both took a shot on target in the second half, but were stopped by FSC's Jenny Staten.
Carlotta Stark made two saves during the match for SHC.
