MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team swept Lane, 14-2 and 6-1, in a Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) doubleheader at Sims-Galle Field on Saturday.
The Badgers went to work early putting up six runs in the first inning of game one. Spring Hill tacked on eight more runs before a weather delay at the start of the bottom of the sixth inning. The delay didn't stop SHC's momentum as it went on to defeat Lane 14-2 in mercy-ruled seven inning game.
Logan Clark took the win on the mound for Spring Hill.
In game two, the Badgers got on the board first in the bottom of the third on a sacrifice RBI from
Ethan Valdez that brought
Nick Hunter home. Spring Hill scored five more runs in the fifth inning before Lane answered with one in the seventh. It was not enough to overcome the 6-1 lead established by SHC.
Kai St. Germaine took the win on the bump in the second game.
