GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Spring Hill College softball team captured its first of the season while splitting results against Florida Tech (4-3) and Saint Leo (1-0) at the Gulf Shores Invitational on Sunday.

The Badgers faced Florida Tech to begin the day. The game was tied at 3-3 going into the top of the sixth before the Panthers singled on a 1-1 count and broke the tie, defeating Spring Hill 4-3.

In their second game of the day, the Badgers got on the scoreboard first against Saint Leo after
McKenzie King hit a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing
Airyonna Weaver to score the lone run of the game. SHC held on to defeat the Lions 1-0, capturing its first win of the season. The win also marks the first under Head Coach
Hanna Lythberg.
