Badger Softball drops doubleheader at Montevallo

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – The Spring Hill College softball team dropped a doubleheader at Montevallo on Friday.
 
The Badgers fell in both games in the doubleheader series to in-state Gulf South Conference (GSC) foe Montevallo.
 
The Falcons took an early three-run lead in game one and SHC showed life in the third inning by scoring on a wild pitch. Montevallo responded with eight runs in the bottom of the third, giving them enough distance to cruise to a 12-4 victory by the end of the fifth inning, despite a three-run homer coming off the bat of Macy Holt in the Badger's half.
 
In the second game, Spring Hill started off behind 2-0 in the first inning before scoring its lone run of the game in the third. The Falcons answered with another run in the bottom of the third and six more in the bottom of the sixth to end the game leading 9-1.
