MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College baseball team fell in its home opener doubleheader to No. 4 Columbus State at Sims-Galle Field on Sunday.

The Badgers faced the nationally ranked Peach Belt Conference (PBC) member in its home opener. The Cougars took both games 7-0 and 6-5 to clinch the series.

The highlight of the day came early in game two for SHC when
Cade Simpson extended the lead to 2-0 with a sacrifice RBI to first base. CSU came back and made it a 6-4 game by the sixth inning. Spring Hill fought hard in the seventh, cutting the lead down to a one-run deficit (6-5) on an error by Columbus State. The Cougars prevailed and won the game 6-5, clinching the three-game series.
