Kentucky State downs Spring Hill in SIAC divisional matchup

FRANKFORT, Ky. – The Spring Hill College men's basketball team fell to Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) west division foe Kentucky State, 80-70, at the William Exum Center on Monday night.
 
The Badgers held a close margin at halftime (39-38) with the lead changing hands 15 times in the first half. In a similar fashion, the second half was closely contested with 15 lead changes. The Thorobreds held on to defeat Spring Hill 80-70. SHC fell to 7-8 (4-6 SIAC) in its final of four straight road contests, while KSU rose to 8-4 (7-2 SIAC).
 
Beril Kabamba led the game in scoring with 27 points while also tallying eight rebounds and an assist. Kentucky State was led by Montrell Jacobs, who recorded 23 points, two rebounds, a steal and an assist.

On the game
"We played a tremendous game for 36 minutes. The last four minutes being of the road for nine days caught up with us. It was like work horses trying to race at the Derby.  This trip has been a real grind, but it will prepare us well for the end of the year. I am really proud of how tough we competed tonight."
