MOBILE, Ala. – The Spring Hill College men's basketball team suffered defeat at the hands of Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) divisional foe Lane, 71-61, at the Arthur R. Outlaw Recreation Center on Saturday night.
The Badgers were led by the Dragons at halftime, 33-25. Lane took the lead early in the first half from Spring Hill, which was the only lead change of the night. Lane defeated SHC 71-61 and improved to 6-10 (4-6 SIAC) while the Badgers fell to 7-9 (4-7 SIAC).
Scoring was led by Lane's Floyd Williams with 25 points, while
Tana Kopa led Spring Hill with 18 points.
Timothy Reilly led the game with 12 rebounds while
Steven Lyles recorded a double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds.

"It's a disappointing loss but if you would have told me that we would lose two starters in
Beril Kabamba and
Eli Lenihan and only lose by 10, and really it was a lot of free throws down the stretch, I would have said you are crazy. Guys had to step up and in many ways they did.
Timothy Reilly had another good game and so did
Steven Lyles. It was great getting
Isaiah Veal back out there for a bit. If it is true that adversity creates character - we are going to be full of character, because we are facing it now. We will look ahead and prepare for a good LeMoyne-Owen team coming here on Monday."
