SHC falls in closing moments to CSU

WILBERFORCE, Ohio – The Spring Hill College men's basketball team fell to Central State, 72-71, in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) west division opener at the Beacom/Lewis Gym on Saturday.
 
The Badgers trailed at halftime, 36-32, despite shooting 45.8 percent (11-24) from the floor while holding the Marauders to 35.3 percent (12-34). Spring Hill outscored Central State, 39-36, in the second half, but a last-second goaltending call on the Badgers with 12 seconds left in the game gave CSU a 72-71 lead to win the game.
 
Beril Kabamba and Marcus Scott (Central State) led the game in scoring with 22 points apiece. Tana Kopa and Ibrahima Jarjou (CSU) led in rebounds with eight each.

"This was a heck of a game. I told the guys at half time that it would come down to the last second and it did. We were really tough in the second half and had to deal with the adversity of foul trouble, but I thought our guys responded really well. The grind continues as we head to Kentucky."
