Spring Hill earns two sweeps at SIAC Crossover

EMERSON, Ga.  – The Spring Hill College volleyball team earned two sweeps over Allen University and Benedict College during the first day of the SIAC Crossover at the LakePoint Sports Complex on Friday.
 
Spring Hill ran off with a 15-0 lead to start set No. 1 against Allen (25-5, 25-13, 25-9). The Badgers held Allen to just five points in the set while winning 25-5. Emily Weinzapfel tallied a season-high three service aces to highlight a six-point scoring run and extend the Badger lead to 7-3 early in the second set. SHC had one more scoring run to add before taking the set 25-13. Set three went in favor of the Badgers, 25-9, completing the three-set sweep.
 
Against Benedict (25-6, 25-9, 25-12), Spring Hill leaped ahead in set one with a 5-0 scoring run, capped off by a service ace from Brooke Borgmeyer. An 8-0 scoring run kept the Badgers ahead 22-5, before they won the set 25-6. SHC Completed the 3-0 sweep of Benedict by winning set three 25-12.
